The National Post graciously gave City of Toronto CFO Cam Weldon 537 words to make his case regarding the way he had handled Mercer’s $200 million fuck-up. Perhaps the editor could give himself a column in order to explain his own fuck-ups.
Comedian was a 2002 American documentary about the art, business, and emotions of stand-up comedy. One thread follows Jerry Seinfeld as he prepares to go back on the road with new material subsequent to the end of his TV show. The other thread follows impossibly arrogant up-and-comer Orny Adams as he tries to become the next Seinfeld. In this clip, Orny travels to Montreal and learns that exposure in the National Post doesn’t quite mean what he thought it did.
The National Post (A) is located at York Mills and Don Mills, in the middle of nowhere. The one time that news actually occurs just up the street from them (B), they are not only extremely vague about the location (“a Don Mills office building”) but are thoroughly out-reported by both the Star and 680News.
Oh National Post, how your copy editors stand on guard for thee.
